Dad to the Bone!

Dad to the Bone! March 29, 2009

So here is Jerry’s finished birthday present. There’s a yellow spot in the bottom of the shirt in the picture that isn’t there in real life. I’m assuming it’s because the flash didn’t reach there. I’m not sure what to do about that yet.
I got the idea for this tee-shirt from a shirt my friend Bill got at his baby shower. His was much tidier though. To make it, I masked off a portion of the front with construction paper where the writing would go, and then I let the kids go at the shirt with bone shaped sponges dipped in fabric paint. It quickly devolved from there. After a lot of soap and scubbing the kids were a little cleaner and the shirt was put up to dry. Then later after the girls were asleep I laid down construction paper letters on the blank part and sponged watered down fabric paint onto the shirt over the letters to give the outline of Dad to the Bone! Happy Birthday Honey!
