Garden adventures

Garden adventures August 27, 2009

We’ve been having a good garden year, and I’ve enjoyed sharing it with my girls. A few days ago I found a grasshopper clinging to my doorway, completely ignoring gravity. I caught him and shared his coolness with my girls and a couple of their friends visiting at the time. I thought I’d share some pictures of our catch and release grasshopper along with some other garden pics.

My seven foot tall rose bush.
Borage and Zinnias

my culinary herb garden, with sage, oregano and garlic chives. I always thought that garlic chives were from China versus regular chives, being from Europe. Recently I found out that regular garden chives are also from China. I love finding out where plants originated. I think it tells you something about a plant to know where it’s from.

Tansy and Chicory, next to my strawberry patch.
