Woods Walk

Woods Walk April 20, 2010

In my search for Monet Moments (not a registered trademark) I took my younger daughter to a local park. I snapped this first shot while shouting, “Don’t pick it! Don’t Pick IT!” Trilliums are beautiful and endangered so here in Michigan it’s illegal to pick them. I’m not sure if that’s how it works everywhere. I must try and get to some of our other nature centers around town and see if I can find some of the red trilliums. I hear they’re beautiful. I’m still working on learning how to capture light with my camera. I wish I could paint some of what I saw, but with a three year old photography is the best medium for now.

Here’s a Monet of clematis that reminded me of my trillium:
We also watched the ducks and Canadian Geese. I have a thing for swans and geese so I enjoyed taking lots of reference photos for my paintings. I liked this series of one particular goose.

“Wha’cha looking at bub?”
