Herbs!

Herbs! May 12, 2010

I just got my order from Richter’s an awesome herb supplier out of Ontario. They have an amazing selection of every kind of herb you might want. I got perennial herbs, things that I’ve tried to start from seed and failed. Yay for ordering plants! Lovage, French Thyme and Good King Henry are for cooking. Lovage has a celery flavor, and Good King Henry is basically a perennial kale. Anise-Hyssop and Lemon Verbena are for tea, and Horehound is for chest complaints. Angelica is for making candied angelica stem for my fruit cake come December, and Rue for making flea repellent for my cat.

I am totally geeking out.
I almost forgot the Comfrey! I got a Russian variety of Comfrey that doesn’t spread and take over your whole yard. It’s for wounds and also to make my compost pile heat up like an August afternoon. Oh yeah.
