Art Shrine: Ghosts from the Past

I’m having some technical problems with the shrine building materials. I would like to minimize toxic products in the creation of the shrine. I’d like to use beeswax but I’m worried that it would melt later on. I also don’t know how I’m going to attach the fan to the top. I want to blend stark lines between the dark shrine and the white objects, somehow making them more ghostly. I still think beeswax is the best option out there. Anybody know anything about encaustic or using beeswax?

Eventually I want to hang the crystal attached to this little guy from the top of his niche and shorten the chain. The crystal is a lovely iridescent one.
