Vintage Pattern Lust!

Vintage Pattern Lust! January 2, 2011
I was wandering the interwebz looking for vintage apron patterns, as I sometimes do, when I came across the most amazing line of vintage patterns from Decades of Style. I am in love, love, love! with their high waisted 1940’s pant.
I could totally see making this up in a black linen/cotton blend and pairing it with a little knit top, or just skipping the pant part entirely and making a high waisted skirt or dress of the whole thing in some sort of crisp cotton.
I’m equally enamored of their wrapped 1940’s sundress pattern. The best part is that it’s got that great wrapped front and it’s not a halter top! My neck needs a chiropractor on a fairly regular basis, and there’s nothing that sends me there faster than a halter top dress. I regularly turn them into standard 2 strap dresses to avoid neck strain. I love that it has that kind of look with a cute strappy crossed back. I would be the coolest gardener in the neighborhood wearing it this summer with a big floppy hat!
Alas, they’re $18 a pattern, which I imagine is a fair price for the work they’ve put into them, but is a little out of my range. Maybe I’ll get lucky and some people will buy some prints so I can splurge on some patterns!
