Happy Pi Day!

It’s pi day today, March 14th, or 3.14. I love the number pi. It describes the relationship between the circumference and the diameter of a circle. With the magic number pi, you can calculate that circumference from just measuring across any circle. You can calculate the area of a circle, and you know, if you’ve tried to guess it, that’s a trick to do without pi.

Pi is an irrational number, so I feel like we have some common ground, since I can be a little irrational myself, at least according to my family…

So today I sing the praises of pi!

Hail to 3.14159…!

And in honor of one awesome number, my daughter and I made pie for pi.
