Sketching and other things

Sketching and other things September 20, 2011

So I’ve been sketching more recently, trying out ideas on paper playing with words. I haven’t had the time or space to paint very much. The family is still trying to find our school year rhythm. Girl Scouts is starting next monday and I’m still working on getting that together. Druid work has taken a lot of time too. Sketching is my way of stealing art time right now.

I’ve been writing poetry again, which is always a dangerous sort of entertainment.
Here’s a little bit of what I’ve been working on, symbology that seems potent and full of portent at the moment.

Still lonely on the path,
Surrounded by love
And loving in return,
I find myself set apart
And I wonder is this what it is to be made sacred?
Pour me out upon the earth
For I am filled
And filled
And overfilled with the abundance of life
I must share it
Or dare to clog the holes in my net
Arteries clogged with gifts not given
Healing not healed
Love not shared
Pain not felt
Life is love and pain and death, rinse recycle repeat.
Yet,
Somehow infinitely new
Each butterfly flutter in my heart,
Each moment of connection
Each sanctified kiss
Gone in a moment. Forever, never to be repeated.
So yeah. That’s where I’m at. More later.
