Recently I’ve come across some great resources for sketching that I wanted to share. The first is a a whole bunch of free downloadable vintage books all about sketching and figure drawing.
Then there’s Pikaland: The Illustrated Life, which is so fun, beautiful, and inspirational. Make sure to check out the sidebar with the free PDFs about different topics for artists.
If you want to find a wonderful community of artists, check out Leah over at Creative Every Day. Every monday you can post a link to your blog, flickr account, or web page, linking to your creative endeavor for the week. Leah has themes for the month every month, and lots of great prompts to help you create. That community really helped me gain confidence when I started this blog. Make sure to check out her November challenge, Art Every Day Month. It’s a great opportunity to delve into your art in an intense way with a great community of fellow artists.
