A few years ago I had the opportunity to visit the small church in Saul, Northern Ireland which marks the site where Saint Patrick began the evangelization of Ireland. He is buried in the nearby cemetery.
This small sign above stands by the small church of Saul. It reads:
Church of Ireland, St. Patrick’s Memorial Church, Saul
On the site of this Church St. Patrick built the first Christian Church in Ireland 432 A.D. Here is the most ancient ecclesiastical site in this land the cradle of Irish Christianity. The Church is open daily. Service is held every Sunday 10 a.m.
