Vacation — Day 2

Vacation — Day 2 July 10, 2005

Served Liturgy with Fr Gabriel at St Nicholas, Myrtle Beach, SC.

Dead, yes. But an unusual sight whilst out walking nonetheless.

Nightly walk, stressing the camera.

This morning on the way to church, we saw a mother duck leading her babes across the road. What a beautiful, wonderful sight! I often use the phrase “ducks in a row” — as in getting my “ducks in a row”. Being a fairly organized person, I appreciate ducks in a row. But nothing compares to the beauty of the real thing. Ducks. In. A. Row. We also got to see, though I slammed on the brakes, quite a bit of the ducks’ behinds. Momma Duck, Lord, must have had a lot on her mind. But she did teach me a lesson. That is, even when you get all your ducks in a row, you never know when some fool is going to coming flying along in his Windstar to disrupt it all!

Yes, they all got away safely.

Always remember … regrouping is just as important as getting your ducks in a row.

Of course, being able to fly helps.
