Tatum, Texas B.C. (Before Cold) December 2, 2006

The Huneycutts went camping over the Thanksgiving Break at the state park at Martin’s Creek Lake, near Tatum, Texas. The weather was absolutely perfect, with temps in the 70s/40s. (Hover your cursor over pics for captions; click to enlarge.)

The water, though low, added to the beauty of the lake in autumn.
Something happens, when you grow older, that you no longer feel drawn to test your balance. But, kids? A whole nuther story.
I've never been a big s'mores fan. (I build the fires.) The rest of my family? A different story!
On our hike we came upon this curiosity for the kids. They couldn't believe it was what we said it was. And to think, my great grandmother had a fully functioning replica in her back yard!
I once caught a fish ... Really! I swear ... it was atleast ... oh, no kidding ... this far from shore.
The Huneycutt clan stares down a grasshopper.
The larger version of this pic of my son showed a bright other-worldly image to the left. We assumed it to be my finger. Yet, just in case it was his guardian angel, I cropped it lacking permission to publish :).
That's our villa in the woods. We camped on an island, primitave (no water, facilities) -- and had the whole island to ourselves for 3 days!
Watch our for that stob! (We took our canoe.)
My co-pilots (well, more like cute passengers).
Care for a swim?
Nothing to add -- just cool looking coloured leaves!
Pretty cool, huh?
Out for a hike. See ya later.
