The Salvation Army, My Brother’s Keeper, Alcoholics Anonymous and other religious-based organizations practice the good teachings in religion. At their core is the belief of helping people for a higher purpose and spreading that morality to others. A type of morality that leads society to adopts laws that protect civilians from injustice and policies to help the poor. A type of morality for which during the Shoah, countless Christians sheltered Jews from the Nazis; Martin Luther King Jr. became the core of the Civil Rights Movement; Mother Teresa defined the humanitarian cause; Churches in Massachusetts marry their devout gay followers. Individuals across the world have risen to help less fortunate people either because they believe God had a mission for them or because they want to practice what they preach.
