Dr. Johnson to Serve as Inaugural Speaker of the Lunch and Learn Series

R3 editor, Dr. Andre E. Johnson will serve as the Inaugural Speaker of the Gifts of Life Ministries Lunch and Learn Series on November 5 at 12 noon. The church is located at 1542 Jackson Ave. in Memphis, Tennessee. 

Lunch and Learn is a new ministry of the church designed to foster a better understanding of topics that are germane to people in the community. Speakers in this series will typically speak on topics straight from the headlines. Dr. Johnson’s lecture will center on the church’s response to the “Rise of the Nones.” While many are not affiliated with any religious institution, more than 64% of them would consider themselves spiritual, but not religious. Dr. Johnson will also focus his talk on his forthcoming book, “Being the Church: Doing the Mission of Jesus.”  

Dr. Johnson is the Associate Professor of Rhetoric & Religion and African American Studies at Memphis Theological Seminary and Senior Pastor of Gifts of Life Ministries
