CFP: Religion and Popular Culture (MPCA Conference, Indianapolis, October 3–5, 2014):

Deadline April 30, 2014

Proposals for papers, panels, and presentations are invited involving any area of the study of popular culture and religion at the Midwest Popular Culture Association/American Culture Association conference at the JW Marriott Indianapolis, Friday-Sunday, October 3–5, 2014. All topics, approaches, and perspectives relating to religion and popular culture are welcomed and will be considered; we have a very open tent and welcome diversity of content, approach, and perspective. We especially encourage proposals by graduate students. Graduate students should investigate our travel grant program (http://mpcaaca.org/conference/travel-grants/); undergraduate students might consider entering the undergraduate paper competition (http://mpcaaca.org/conference/undergraduate-paper-competition/).

Please upload 250 word abstract proposals on any aspect of Religion and Popular Culture Studies to the online paper submission site for the conference at http://submissions.mpcaaca.org/. You will receive a response within 24 hours. Please include name, institution affiliation (if any), and e-mail address with the 250-word abstract. Also, please indicate in your submission whether your presentation will require an LCD projector. More information about the conference can be found at http://mpcaaca.org/indy-2014/
