CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 11:59 PM PST via NCA Convention Central

The African American Communication and Culture Division (AACCD) invites your competitive papers, panel discussions, paper and performance sessions for the NCA 101st Annual Convention. The convention theme is Embracing Opportunities: stepping beyond “what we have always done” and instead envisioning “what can be” as we interact with our students, establish ourselves as scholars, connect with colleagues in the discipline, partner with others beyond the academy, and juggle myriad personal commitments amid demanding professional obligations and expectations.

The AACCD encourages submissions addressing issues that significantly contribute to the convention theme while promoting communications scholarship involving and/or affecting descendants of the African Diaspora.

Coinciding with the conference theme, the AACCD highly desires submissions that will encourage us to tackle tough topics, engage in meaningful dialogues, and spark conversations and foundations for collaborations that could stretch into more long-term interactions involving mentoring, research, service, and more.

Innovative and inspiring competitive papers, panel discussions, paper and performance sessions that challenge us to examine how members from various ethnic backgrounds that have a genuine interest in attending to issues that impact the people of the African Diaspora can “embrace opportunities” to work together, make a difference in our educational institutions, our communities, our discipline, and our world are highly sought.
